Privacy policy

This version applies to visitors in Canada, including Quebec.

This policy explains what personal information the Notaray website collects, why, where it is stored and how long we keep it. Notaray is a product in development at Agnotiq ("we"). The product holds no customer data yet. This policy covers the public website at notaray.com and notaray.ca.

What we collect

Just visiting. The site sets no cookies and shows no advertising. We use cookieless, aggregate analytics from Vercel (Web Analytics and Speed Insights) to count page views, see which pages people reach and measure loading speed. These tools do not build a profile of you or follow you across other sites. Your theme choice (light, dark or system) is kept in your own browser and is not sent to us. A dismissed language suggestion is remembered in your browser for that visit.

The design-partner form. If you apply, we collect your name, business name, email address, type of business, country and province or state, where booking requests reach you today, which calendar or system holds your bookings and, if you choose to give it, your phone number.

Get notified. If you sign up for updates, we collect your email address and the topics you choose: a launch notice, and product news and guides. Business type, country or province or state and preferred language are optional.

Consent records. For each form or topic we keep a record of the wording you agreed to, the time, the country derived from your connection, the language and domain you used and the page you were on. We keep the country, not a profile of you.

Abuse protection. To stop automated abuse we use rate limits and a bot check (Vercel BotID). These look at request details such as your IP address and the email address you submit. We use them for this purpose and no other.

How we use it

  • To reply to design-partner applications and to contact you about the program.
  • To send the emails you asked for, in your language, and to record your choices.
  • To confirm your email address with a message you have to act on (double opt-in). Until you confirm, we send you nothing else.
  • To measure how the site is used, in aggregate, and to keep it secure.

We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for advertising.

Who handles it for us

We use service providers that process information on our behalf: Vercel (hosting, analytics and bot checks), Supabase (database), and Resend (email delivery). They may use the information solely to provide their service to us.

Where it is stored

Sign-up and application data is stored in a database hosted in the United States (Supabase, us-east-1 region). The site is served through Vercel's network. If you are outside the United States, your information is transferred to and stored in the United States.

How long we keep it

  • A sign-up or application you do not confirm by email is deleted after 30 days, and we send no marketing email to it.
  • Confirmed sign-ups are kept until you withdraw consent, unsubscribe from every topic or ask us to delete your data.
  • Design-partner applications are kept while the program runs, or until you ask us to delete them. After the program ends, we keep them for as long as reasonably necessary, and for no more than 12 months.
  • A record that you unsubscribed or asked for deletion is kept so that we do not contact you again.

Your choices and rights

Every email has a link to a preference page where you can turn each topic on or off, and a one-click unsubscribe. You can ask us to show you the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it or stop using it. Write to the address under Contact. We log each request and answer it within the time the law requires.

Canadian privacy law

We handle personal information under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act and, for Quebec residents, the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector as amended by Law 25. We collect information with your consent, for the purposes described above, and we limit what we collect to what those purposes need.

Storage outside Canada. Your information is stored in the United States and is subject to the laws of that country, including lawful requests from its authorities. For Quebec residents: before personal information about a person in Quebec is communicated outside Quebec, we assess the privacy factors as Quebec’s private-sector privacy law requires.

Person responsible. Law 25 requires a person in charge of the protection of personal information. Their name and contact details are under Contact.

Emails and CASL. We send commercial email solely to people who have given consent under Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation, and we confirm each consent by email. Every message names us, gives our postal address and carries an unsubscribe link that works immediately. You can withdraw consent at any time.

Access and correction. You can ask for access to, or correction of, the information we hold about you, and you can ask us to stop using or delete it. We answer within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or, in Quebec, to the Commission d'accès à l'information.

Automated decisions and profiling. We do not use your information to make decisions about you by automated means and we do not profile you.

Language

This policy is available in English and French.

Changes

We will update this page when our practices change and change the date at the top of the page. If a change affects how we use information you gave us, we will tell you by email before it applies.
